cuda shaker base to hood seal direction

in which direction does the shaker seal attach to the base plate of the shaker, I see the seal has a ovals shape and a extra flap/w factory slot cut into it, does the slot go over the shaker base outer lip? with the tallest part up? or does a certain side of the seal get glued down on to the base piece, with the cut flap in a different direction?

The seal held as you are in the picture attaches to the passenger side of the base plate/adapter ring near the center & extends forward from there around the base plate/adapter ring... Where the ends join again near the center of the passenger side you cut the excess off & glue the end together then the seam is covered with black duct tape...

I remember when I did mine . . . wrong . . I tried to glue it to the base then went to a show and saw one . . . got home and did it correctly.  Big difference.  Only thing that needs glued is the ends together.  Then as stated, black tape on the joint.

ok so I understand the direction of the seal, how ends are joined, and wrap direction. but does it get glued to the top outer edge of base plate, or does the base plate outer edge go inside the bottom slot of the seal?
