70 cuda pro touring
« on: March 19, 2018 - 07:19:27 PM »
Hey guys I’m new here, I’ve been reading this form for years & now just found my dream car ,70 barracuda my plans are to pro tour/track car/ frankenstein/ street legal race car, hellcat engine, 6spd, Dana 60, my question is how hard is it to install 71 cuda front fenders? I mean the headlights? I know the fenders fit ,is it a ton of work to fit the single headlight bucket? I’ve always loved the gills, but it like the single headlight on the 70; any help would be great, thanks again “ dirt fish cuda build”

Sounds like you just need to buy the 71 gills by themselves and install them onto your '70.  They are readily available thru several suppliers, even with chrome gills.
Be sure to check out my 1970 Hemi 'Cuda Convertible web site https://packlighter.com/cuda/mycuda.html

With that type of build, I would expect simply adding fender gills would be one of the easiest modifications done. :faint:

Well, first welcome to the site and good luck with your resto-mod! Build it the way you want to and drive the bejeezus out of it once you do!

The car needs front fenders anyways, I just thought I would save the hassle of adding the gills & just buy 71 fenders? So I already have the 70 headlight buckets from the original fenders, just wondering if its more work then it's worth?

I know this build is going to make a lot of the purests mad at car shows, but I love all the years of the barracuda, & I want to incorporate all the cool aspects of each year into the car, 70 head & taillights, 71 fenders, aar spoilers, 6 pack hood, aar exhaust.....you get the picture
