Hood latch and catch help please!

Hi Everyone!

I am in the middle of restoring my 73 Cuda ( bought it stripped), and it has the inside cable hood release handle. Can anyone help me to distingush what parts im missing from the assembly?!

 I have the catch there, latch there but seem to be missing a handle or otherwise? IF the car came with a cable release, was there a different lever from the front to pop the hood up after pulling it?

Any difference in catches/latches for cable/non cable releases? Ive attached what my car has at the moment. thanks!

If its cable operated (inside) then you will not have the outside lever. The safety catch is on the hood, so you are good there. Here is the FSM picture, sorry its the only one.

That latch is not a cable release latch.... And it appears your missing the pop up spring...  Post a picture of your release cable.....

thanks for the replies.I have the spring, I know I need to buy the saftey catch hook that is attached to the hood. I have the cable release, just need to figure out how exactly the assembly is complete. I still feel its missing something, and looks like something would bolt onto the radiator support?

anyone with a 73 have some pics they could please post.

I cant post photos but my 73 latch looks like yours and is not a cable release latch.

That is not an E body hood release cable....Probably C body..... And the linked thread shows the correct latch which isn't what you have....  You best bet is to install a standard release which is what your latch is for & likely what came with your car when new..
