Pypes Race Pro Mufflers
« on: April 16, 2018 - 10:09:21 AM »
Anyone have any first hand experience with these mufflers?  I'm considering them.  I'm about to install the TTI 2 1/2" exhaust system with X pipe.  I was gonna stay with Flowmaster 40 mufflers (that's what's installed now) cuz I like the sound of them but supposedly they don't flow that well so thinking about something that will provide more performance.

Have a 70 Cuda with a 440 4 speed and the current dual exhaust system is only 2 1/4" with no H or X pipe.
So between uping the size from 2 1/4" to 2 1/2", adding the X pipe and using better flowing mufflers, I'm hoping for some HP gain.

I was looking at Pypes's stuff at Carlisle and they make a whole system, in stainless that was 2.5" and went around $400+ or so. TTI is good stuff, but it's brutally expensive. Just my  :2cents:

Thanks....but kinda has nothing to do with my question about Race Pro Mufflers though.

Guess I'll answer my own question so others that may be interested in these mufflers will know.

Finally got them installed along with the 2.5" TTI Exhaust System with X pipe.  They sound great.  Sound a lot like the Flowmaster Original 40 Series that I removed but with a little deeper, throatier sound....and no raspiness.
