Dakota Digital Gauges
« on: April 18, 2018 - 09:48:31 PM »
Has anyone here installed Dakota Digital gauges in their e-body? I am so close to pulling the trigger, but can’t decide between the black version they have and the mimic of the stock rallye gauges with the stock style speedo and tach. I can’t find a lot of customer feedback on how it works online either for Mopars.

If any of you have them, can you post pictures of them installed??

I have not installed them, however Crash520 has. Pm him for more on it. He shipped the gauges to me bc he lives in Australia and he installed them in his 73 Cuda. He told me there were pretty easy to install and work really well.

My car isn't original, but I'm still leaning towards the stock style gauges.  They look really slick! Thanks Crash for sharing pictures!

I believe the stock (as in stock to a mopar) style gauges are special order. We talked them at SEMA 2 years ago and tried to explain that Ebody guys would probably prefer the stock looking font but they were not too interested.

definitely agree, the "standard" style looks like Chevy crap.

Thanks guys, I asked my wife and her response is “they all look the same to me” sheesh lol.  I don’t mind the right two gauges being different than stock, it’s still stock enough looking that I think it would be a good fit for my car.

My mopar rallye gauge cluster has a fried clock, tach, and speedo. Figured I’d spend the money on something new rather than restore.

Then put your stock gauges on Ebay and fully disclose the problems.. Probably still get 5-600 back

First of all Dakota Digital is a great company. Their after sale service is exceptional...best I have ever experienced from any consumer item!
Selection comes down to the criteria you use. My choice in instruments is all about legibility. Large type on clean backgrounds. To that end I think the "stock" look seems to be the better choice.
Graet  product/company  regardless!

Well I have looked at both the offered versions and the custom set Crash520 did and will say that the custom set IMO looks far better and is just as legible. If I recall correctly, it wasn't a huge charge for the custom set and the expense was well worth it. If I hadn't already spent like $800 on Autometer gauges and then another $1000 on  Speedhut gauges I would absolutely would have ordered the DD set with the custom faces. If I ever did another E body, that would be the direction Id go.

Well I bought the stock style gauges from them. I also paid extra to switch the oil/temp gauges with the fuel/voltmeter.  The only issue I see is that the needles are only red when they’re illuminated, you can set day time setting though so it’s always on but dimmer slightly.

Also excited about this, I can wire electric fuel pressure and trans temp to read out on the lower left digital screen without separate gauges!

Definitely one of the more cool aspects to these DD gauges is what you can do with the displays. Crash520 rigged the parking light to be a shift light.

Stock style look awesome! Do you have a part number? I checked their website and didn't see the stock style. :dunno: Thanks
