Carb or Choke Issues?
« on: April 26, 2018 - 11:09:12 AM »
Hello all,

So, I take my Challenger out at least once a week just to keep it running (and of course to enjoy it)and I've noticed a few issues.

First, it's obviously "cranky" when it's cold. (Even though I have an electronic choke on it)

Second, once warm, while driving it, I notice it feels like it's "Struggling" or "missing" while cruising.

Third, when I begin to accelerate from a stop, the car "falls on itself" or does not want to accelerate smoothly- unless I stomp on the gas.

What can I look for or adjust here?
I have a 440 Engine and Holey 670 Avenger Carb.

Thanks!

if it ran fine before and now it having issues, sounds like the choke is sticking a little. I would recommend getting some carb cleaner and get in there and hose off the choke parts, make sure it is functioning/moving. while you are in there, check every vacuum line and  tighten the carb. Make sure actually look at the vacuum lines to make sure none are cracked and allowing air to be sucked in.

Do this and then come back with the results.
