water pump, oil pump, oil pan, chain cover colors?
« on: April 29, 2018 - 10:02:43 AM »
Dears,
I am rebuilding a 1970 440-6.
Even if I am using eStreet Cyl. Heads I would like to keep it as close as possible to original, factory look.
Can somebody give we suggestions on the colors for the parts in the Subject?
Would you paint the all heads of keep it raw aluminium?

Many thanks!!
R.

All should be painted engine color (EV2 Hemi orange in this case)
Current Mopar
70 Challenger RT 440-6 EFI, 73 Cuda 416-6 EFI
05 Hemi Durango, 01 Ram 4x4, 14 Ram 2500 4X4, 10 PCP Challenger 6 spd RT, 01 Viper GTS ACR, 52 B3B w/330 Desoto Hemi, 70 Hemi RR (under const)
Past Mopars
9 x Challengers. AAR Cuda, 4 RR, 2 GTX, 4 Chargers, etc... (too many to list)

Paint the lower front of your engine timing cover area first before installing the Harmonic Balancer.
Paint the backside of  the Balancer.

Install Balancer.
Now you're ready for painting entire engine.

Roger Gibson Restorations sells the most accurate Mopar Orange. Bar None

Use VHT high temp primer.
Just light coats will be all that's necessary prior to painting.
