Distributor base gasket
« on: May 20, 2018 - 04:36:22 PM »
On a 440, shouldn't there be a gasket at the base of the distributor where it meets the block?  I just removed the distributor installed by the previous owner to install a FireCore distributor and there wasn't a gasket, just the o- ring a little lower than where I believe a gasket should be.  Wasn't leaking though.  Wanna put one on if there's supposed to be one.

There were three ways it could be sealed,  the O ring which I consider the best option... A metal gasket or a paper gasket....  As long as you have one of the three your fine....
