My can is 4 1/2 inches deep and the center bolt of my puller has a 4 inch reach. That means that my center bolt on my steering column has to stick out at least one inch for the puller to work. I don't remember the actual length when I pulled it about a year ago. I'd have to remove the steering wheel and measure it to see what it's actual length is. In the meantime, if you got a hold of two six inch bolts, you could use a deep well socket between the end of the puller center bolt and your steering column to pull it off. Since the center bolt pushes in to remove the steering can while the outside bolts pull, the socket should work. I may have done that myself but I don't remember.
