    727 long tail vs short tail

    I want to swap my slant six for a 360. Is there a difference between a 727 short tail and long tail housing trans, as far as the cross member mount? I know I would have to change the drive shaft.  Thanks

    That chart doesn't show anything about the short tail shaft trans....  Short shaft was HD Truck, not used in passenger cars & the mount location is different.... Long shaft trannies are far more common, why make more work for yourself...

    This info is great. The reason I was asking, I have a 904 trans in the car now. The tail housing on this trans looks short. Thanks again.

    Long tail housing is about 18"....   Short might be 12"
