electric fan & water pump
« on: September 21, 2002 - 08:10:00 AM »
CUDA decided that 440 needed a little more dressing up so it chucked a bearing in the water pump. I've only found Mopar Performace aluninum housings but they do not look polished.  Anyone know where i can find a polished housing & pump?

also i'd like trash the belt driven fan & go electric.  i've found an 18" with 2750 cfm.  I think that should be enough to keep er cool. Do you agree.

Sounds like you have a lot of work ahead polishing the water pump ::) or you could run a Meziere electric pump & trash the belt drivem pump too  ;D

yeah physco that's what i've been saying to alot of the local mopar crowd " go electric water pump"  & I keep getting the " not for street application" come back.  Man those electric pumps flow 30 plus gallons & draw less than 9 amps & are rated for 2000 hours,  Loosing that belt driven cast iron anchor could gain me about 10 HP. I don't flow coolant through the heater core so i think there shouldn't be any problems.  Agree?

Well it is like anything else it will fail in time but 2000 hrs is a lot of driving if it isn`t your daily driver !
But really you want to polish that housing don`t you !! :P

Check this electric fan out. Thinks it's enough to cool a beefy 440. I think so. I'll yank the pully driven fan for this

Perma-Cool
18" fan
2500 cfm
103.99 US dollars
