Door Glass Installation Hardware
« on: October 16, 2018 - 01:30:24 PM »
Looking for some small hardware for installing the door glass on a '71 'Cuda. Specifically, one raised/coned washer that goes behind the horizontal track where it mounts to the plate and three of the machined bolt/screws that hold the square nylon track guides to the glass and the square thin backing "nuts" (for the front track).   It doesn't seem like these are reproduced by anyone.  It looks like the replacement kits do not need the square thin backing "nuts", but the bolt/screws are unique.

I did a glass install recently and needed the raised washer and came up empty.  I ended up using a nylon bushing in place of it that I found at the local hardware store.  Not sure about the bolts . . .  :dunno:

A lot of great info on the process in this thread  . . . >  https://forum.e-bodies.org/body-shop/5/cuda-door-and-side-window-replacement/371/

Thanks.... For the 1-1/8 raised washer, I was able to take a Doming Block and Punch Set and hand formed something close to the raised washer using a standard flat fender washer.  I am still playing with this, but it will probably work fine with what it is.  I also found that a 1/4"-20 x 1 1/4" Button Flange Socket Head Screw with a aluminum space for the nylon guide seemed to replicate the function of the unique guide bolt.  I would still like to find real ones, but I have at least some ideas as a fall back.
