    71 cuda A833 4 speed trans

    Picked up an 833 trans with 340 bell housing and shifter linkage, along with the diamond shaped aluminum bracket that the shifter mechanism mounts to.  Wondering what all this is worth and if anyone needs it.  The Trans is from car 1B419472 and is 10,000 day calendar dated to June 8, 1971.  I believe this to be a 340 car since the bell housing seems original.  Trans is in used condition and I do now know about whether or not it actually works since I bought it out of a guys garage. 

    I've listed it on Craigslist for $2000 for everything, and I suspect it to be high, so I'm wondering what the value of all this is.  Also willing to sell, although I'd be happy enough to keep it and just install it on the next car I buy or something.

    Trans around 800. Shifter assembly around 200-300 depending on condition. Bell housing about 150. Rebuild it all nice and 1800 would probably be a decent price.

    Problem with Craigslist is everyone expects garage sale prices. Even at 1200 for the package, it won’t sell on day one.

    Jamie Passon lists rebuilds on his web site for $1095, so I doubt an unknown quality, un-rebuilt garage sale trans is worth just shy of that. It may be fine inside, but then again it may be ka-ka and who knows? What's the man got in it versus how much does he need to get out of it? A lot of unknowns regarding a 125lb. item to be shipped God knows where. Just my  :2cents:

    Didn’t realize a rebuilt unit was that low. No core required?
