Console Install
« on: December 09, 2018 - 02:15:58 PM »
I finally got my carpet and door panels on. Now im working on the console 4 speed. when it set down on the brackets are there spacers at the front that go between the bracket an the bottom of the console. There is about an 1 inch space between them. Also the boot an chrome ring that holds it down can be seen from the drivers side. With the seat out that might be covered when the seat goes in I hope. This is on a 70 Cuda  Im just wondering how many inches from the end of the console to the back seat. Just making sure the brackets where out on right Thanks Dirk

When I disassembled my 4 speed console, I recall there were big gaps here and there and I could see the shifter boot and ring. Don’t remember having spacers. In fact, it’s my recollection that the console seemed to sit a little too high.

It just seems that the console don't sit flat at the front mount theres a about a 1 inck gap between the bracket an console. Im afraid it will brake ir I tighten it to much. Im going to try some spacers. The brackets where welded in at the bodyshop I hoping there in the right location. How many inchs do u have from the back of console to the back seat Thanks Dirk

My seats and console are out while I finish sheet metal work otherwise I’d get you a measurement.
