As painful and emotional as it is, its just a car in the end. You've made the right choice for you and that is what is important. As enthusiasts we would all love to see you "dive right in and repair it", but it isn't our car, time or money so it isn't our decision. Likewise, we would all rather see it fixed than parted but again, not our call. I think that it would be a good bet that many of us on here have done something somewhat similar at one time or another, sold a car we had way too much money in for a lot less, wrecked a car that we had labored over, parted out someone else's "pride and joy" after they had wrecked it or blown it up, etc.
In other words, it is what it is and life continues. As was stated in the very beginning, you walked away and live on to drive again and thats what IS important.
If it were me at this point in time, I'd buy a new Challenger Scat Pack and call it a day. In fact, I have thought about doing exactly that a lot more frequently than ever before (sell off all of my "vintage" cars and get another newer one). I have a 2010 PCP Challenger RT 6 spd which I absolutely love, but a Scat Pack car or perhaps even a used Hellcat would be awesome. I cannot bring myself to do it just yet but... If I were in your position, I have no doubts what I would do.. Just saw a matte green 2016 TA for sale... hmmmm
