Dash Reverse Lamp

The wire that comes threw the firewall from the lamp where does it connect under the hood. Does it go to the 4 spd somewhere. Thanks Dirk

It has to connect to the back up light switch.

70chal440 there are only 2 terminals on the backup light switch do u have to spice it in to them. I don't have the harness that comes from the firewall to the switch Thanks Dirk

two prongs on light switch on 4 speed. look at four speed on drivers side behind where shift rods attach to 4 speed.

I see the switch on the 4 spd, that's where the backup wires for the the lights , those 2 wires come out of the fuse box under the hood. So where would a guy plug the reverse wire.

I cannot find an actual diagram, however the wire from the light goes through the firewall and then connects to a wire coming from the transmission reverse light switch. The plug on the trans can be installed in 2 ways, if you have it wrong the back up lights and the dash reverse light will be on all the time. It is a simple circuit, basically one side of the switch it power, when the trans in placed into reverse it connects the power side and the light side thus energizing the back up  (an reverse) lights. If you dont have a wire, you can tap into the the light side of the switch.
