Hi, im new here, so thanks in advance for any help or advice!
Ok heres the deal, i own a 1974 challenger rally, its been in the family since 1976, im in the process of RnD to prep for restoration of the car, what I would like to know is what is involved with putting 1970-71 fenders, quarters, hood and bumpers on to the 74 shell? I want to do this because i like the flush mount side marker lights, and smooth bumpers, and im planning on putting a replica T/A hood on the car, the car needs fenders and quarters anyway, so id like to know how hard it will be to change it, thank you

Its been done by more than a few, in fact someone on here was just posting about this if I remember right. Basically you just need the front end parts. If you want it right, you need to install the rear marker lights as well along with the the taillight panel.

If you're changing the fenders and 1/4's already, then that's it- just change them. They're no different, other than having flush mounted markers. As Mike said, you'll have to change the lower trunk panel and taillamps if you go the whole monty conversion-wise. That'd be the time to put in the one piece trunk floor that it likely needs. I speak as the owner of a 74 Challenger and I considered that option, but ultimately passed. Good luck and welcome to the site.

I know it has been over a year since this post was active, but I was just curious if you had made your fender conversions? I went through this process about 12 years ago when I was restoring my 73 challenger. I actually bought weld in plates that were available and converted all the marker lights to the 70 style. I had to buy all the lights and wiring to complete it. if I had to do it again, I would buy the fenders and do a complete 70 conversion, which I am debating about doing now. I need to replace one of my front fenders anyhow, so I probably will just do the conversion and start collecting parts. Most of the grill parts are available new now, so other than money, it is do-able.

I am kinda curious as well if he was able to make the fender conversion. Any update regarding this?
