NOS finish panel trim for a 1969 GTX trunk lid. It was $3500.00 & only $3490.00 more than the slightly pitted one I once bought for my car.

You know what's worse than the outrageous prices on e-body parts? People who ask if you own a certain part and then get pi**ed off when you tell them that you don't want to sell it and then when you break down and ask a fair price get called an a**hole for wanting that much for it. It has happened to me several times. Now I just lie and tell them that I don't have the part. That way when the day comes that I need it...it's there for me. Every time I sell someone a part to help them out, without fail I end up needing that part later and have to pay 4 times as much to get one. Anyone else go through this or is it just me, the a**hole.

Hotrod, I gave up my vendor space at Carlisle 3 years ago..if i sell anything, it's on e-bay, and i keep most stuff. I'll sell to my friends if they need something, thats about it. Now i enjoy the show, instead of being tied to the space for 3 days.

Thanks about the compliments on the 71...it is really not all that nice of a car compared to what  the other C-C.com members brought to Carlisle. Lots of nice cars on this site!

yeah, i saw that black 71.  The guy wouldn't open the hood for me.  His excuse was that the engine wasn't detailed!

I guess he figured I didn't have the money so he didn't want to waste his time.  Imagine if I had truly been interested?????

72 Cuda Grill complete - NOS grill, NOS headlight bezels, NOS lower grill, new seals, NOS parking light lenses, and used but nice chrome trim all in a big wooden crate. I couldn't see the parking light bezels anywhere and he was asking $4000.

Same guy - NOS 69 Charger quarter - $3500.

NOS 68 Charger grill - all 5 pieces (center, sides and headlight doors) $5400 I think, although delerium may have set in and I misread the numbers in front of all the zeros. I know it was well over $4000 since it's more than every Charger grill I've ever purchased combined (I have 7 of them). You'd still need a frame, headlights, bezels, wiring, vacuum pods, hoses, and a latch to complete the set.

I don't know the price but I did hear a guy ask a seller if he was on crack. I don't think he made the sale.

Well I saw an overpriced part compared to what I paid.  The chrome replacement gas cap for a Challenger that a board member so kindly sold to me for $25 and I think that included shipping, not sure.  Any case my cap is just as good as the one the guy was selling for

hold on

I almost died

my wife shot me a look

and asked if I paid

$295.00!!!  :scared:

You can get a flip top cap for half that.  :smilielol:

Oh and don't forget about that rusted out hunk of junk Cuda convert for $46 or $49k, someone said it dropped down to $39k.  The car was gonzo and needed everything repalced, and if you bought everything you needed at Carlisle, well Bill Gates doesn't have that much money.
