Another Quarter Window Question
« on: October 07, 2019 - 11:19:30 AM »
I've finally got my windows adjusted pretty well, thanks to the info on this forum.  I have one final question that I can't find anything on.

On the quarter window regulator, there is an adjusting screw and lock nut, similar to the two that position the top and bottom of the track.  It's on the regulator itself, and I kinda remember noticing it when I was cleaning up the regulators.  Now that everything is reassembled, I can't figure out what it does.

Everything seems to work good and align well, but I hate to button things up while this is accessible and maybe needs attention.  Any ideas?

Wow, that's the most comprehensive topic I've seen on windows.  I wish I had found it sooner.  I still didn't see anything on that specific adjusting screw.  I don't know if I describing it clearly, but it is vsiible from inside the door below the upper for/aft track adjustment, on the regulator assembly itself.

It looks just like the other two adjusting screws - a slotted head and a lock nut, but it is on the galvanized regulator assembly.  I can't tell what it engages, but it seems to go directly into the side of the toothed plate.  Are you familiar with it?

Thanks for the help.

I would love to say I have the answer but I don't.  My suggestion is to log into the other site and ask the question there . . . someone will know!       Post a picture too!

As I recall, The adjusting screw moves the window in and out (toward the inside of the car or towards the outside). These are used to get the window to align with the weatherstripping correctly.
