Rare no vin case
« on: March 27, 2020 - 12:15:20 AM »

Weird the things you find when you clean out your garage when your on quarantine.  Came loaded with a 18 spline Liberty shifted gears and a aluminum direction connection dual shifter tailshaft.   Wonder the life this trans has been through.   I’m going to reload it new 18 spline internals.  Kinda cool! thought I would share.

That's a cool find.  And it adds some value to the case.

I have a no VIN 23 spline that came out of a Roadrunner supposedly. Many of the "no VIN" transmissions were dealer replacements or sold as parts to racers.

Can't they simply be factory replacement cases sold as a repair part? So many had the ears broken by overzealous guys pulling the trans to the block with the mounting bolts and breaking the ears off. I have one currently the PO did not disclose when he sold the car to me. I know, my mistake...
love 70 Challengers

Yes, they can absolutely be replacement parts (for whatever reason).

True - but with aluminum tailshaft with Mopar casting number and being liberty shifted- Probably was a over the shelf unit for a drag car way back when.  Wish I knew what car it was in
