'73 Cuda - No windshield washer equipment installed (electric vs manual)

Greetings all. I recently acquired a '73 'Cuda, 340 4 Speed. So when I received the car I noticed there was no E-Brake installed (another project) and now I have come to find out the only item installed on the car for the windshield washing system is the wipers and the reservoir. Is there a way I can tell if the car originally had a manual foot pump or electric pump? From what I have gathered, the reservoir that is installed appears to be for a manual foot pump. This seems odd as I imagine with the clutch and e-brake pedal (once installed), the addition of a manual washer foot pump would be difficult to use. Any insight is greatly appreciated.

Do you have a 3 speed wiper or a 2 speed wiper?

I think it is a 3 Speed.

Does the bottom of the washer bottle have a plastic nipple that looks like a hose would slip over or a hole (about 1 inch round) that looks like a washer motor/pump would mount to.

SO the reservoir has a nipple on the bottom right side of the bottle that looks like a hose would fit over it, from what I can tell this is what a manual foot pump would have. However, given everything else is missing I don't know if this is what should be in the car. I am also pretty sure that the wiper motor is a 3 Speed.

In regards to the motor did one come with the manual pump and the other an electric?

Sorry, I can't speak to '73's but for 1970's (like mine) typically the 3 speed wiper motor was paired with an electric pump and the 2 speed motor was paired with the foot pump. Remember I said "typically" and I don't know if they followed the same rule of thumb in 1973.

Sucks that picture posting doesn't work. Does your wiper motor stick up and out from the firewall or does it sit horizontally in the cavity of the firewall?

Push in on the wiper knob, if it depresses and springs back it most likely has electric windshield washer system. I don't know for sure but I don't "think" they had a foot pump in 73 but I could be way off. All of the 3 speed wipers I have seen had electric WW systems.

The wiper motor runs parallel along the firewall instead of protruding directly out of the firewall. From what I have read this makes me believe it is a 3 Speed. I am going to go try the switch which was mentioned as well. Will report back! Also, is the attachment option broken? I tried to upload pics and I get an error. I thought maybe it was a browser issue given all the emojis that say this thread is worthless without pics lol.

If you have the wiper motor on the car, just google "mopar 3 speed wiper: and you will see a picture of one, its pretty easy to tell the different between the 2 speed and the 3 speed.

Yes, the picture posting here is about broken, it can be done through a 3rd party host site I believe.

My 71 BH has a foot washer pump and a two speed wiper motor.

So it looks like the reservoir is not the right one for the car. It has a 3 Speed wiper motor and I was able to depress the wiper knob and it pushed in and it springs back.

Thanks for all the help! I had already ordered a kit with an electric pump, and now I have the appropriate reservoir on the way as well.

Power for the washer motor/pump should be a single brown wire probably dangling below the horns. That's what and where it is on my '70 Barracuda anyway. Out of curiosity, your car does have a rallye dash, correct.
