     :stomp: can anyone tell me what kind of rear end this is   :dontknow: or if it even belongs in the back of a bh23g3b car :madvibe: i dont know  i heard that it is a  :drool: ::) posi  :drool: of some sort how can one tell?? ::)

    if you jack up the rear of the car & turn 1 wheel & the opposite wheel turns the same way it is a sure grip[posi ] diff , if the whell on the other side turns the opposite way it is an open diff
     not sure what diff that is

    I don't mean to cut in on the thread, but what kind of dif do I have?  In the pic below the numbers from the drivers side of the dif appear to be 2070741.  Do they mean any thing?

    the 741 is the 8 3/4 diff carrier that was the weakest at 1 3/8" pinion diameter

    That sucks that I got the weak version.  Oh well.  I figured that I had a 7 1/4" dif, so knowing that it's a 8 3/4" makes me happy.  I'll try my best to break that pansy 741!

    the "weak " 8 3/4 diff will be a lot tougher than the 7 1/4
