Troubleshooting or hotwire 70 barracuda
« on: October 09, 2022 - 09:49:31 AM »
Suddenly I have zero power when turning key on. There's ACC power & battery is charged. No crank or clicking. Just dead. I'm guessing a wire is disconnected or the ignition switch finally wore too much. Would like to try hotwire or shorting at starter. Any suggestions?

Do you have an automatic or manual transmission? If you have a manual transmission and the clutch pedal is not all the way to the floor, you won't crank. There is a safety wire on your starter relay that inhibits starting if the auto tranny is not in park or neutral or if the clutch is not depressed far enough. That wire might have come loose and fallen off. It is usually a brown wire. I'd post a pic of the starter relay but they are not uploading.

Check the steering column wire connection, specifically look at the large (10g) red wire and make sure it is connected and making contact. You can follow that out to the starter relay and make sure its good.
