I just put a new clutch an pressure plate in my 70 Cuda. The pedal only comes half way upnow ,it dont slip or anything works just fine but why the difference. The new plate was a different style would that have anything to do with it thanks

If you converted to a diaphragm clutch you need to remove the big over center spring that is attached to the clutch pedal

The safest way is to get a stack of nickels or thick washers. Take a flat head screw driver and spread one row on the spring. Insert a washer. Do the same front and back of every spring coil. That will spread the spring enough to un hook it,
