WAP?
« on: July 17, 2005 - 07:31:22 PM »
Wireless Access Protocol? Well yes but what does it mean if its stamped on your crankshaft? I know R20 and M20 mean the crankshaft rod and main journals are ground down .020". What does WAP mean? Also noticed that I have letters stamped on the oil pan rails between the oil pan bolt holes. Most are stamped "B". Any idea what thats all about?

Wap would be the initials of the company that machined you block / crank

the letters along the pan rails were put there by the factory so the assembler would know exactly what size piston that bore needed , a might be the smaller piston by a .001 & the higher the letter the lager the piston by maybe .0005
