Anyone have pics of 17 or 18" Magnum 500 alloys on a Cuda?
« on: July 19, 2005 - 12:51:10 AM »
My Barracuda came with factory 14" Magnum 500s and was hoping to keep it looking semi-original while using a more contemporary wheel.  I've seen these 17/18" Magnum copies on the web but not on an actual car so would appreciate it if anyone had some pics before I contemplated bringing them into Australia - at $380-400 US each they aren't cheap.

I grabbed some pics on a challenger if you want them, it was at Carlise in '05 on a Red Challenger. I know you requested 'cuda... I like the look so well that I am leaning towards a set for my 'cuda.... I will dig the picks out

Front tires size - 245/45/17s, Rear 275/40/17. This is just me but these looked really good, if you look close at the spokes you can see my reflection...

And finally, I forgot about my own cuda...  :banghead:

Don't mind my daughter, she was acting goofing that day... These are my extra set of tires for my '04 Mach1 with Nitto drag radials. (the nittos hook real well, 4500 and dump the clutch absolutely no spin, run 11lbs of pressure) I know it is a ford but when I needed a new car Dodge had nothing to offer with a v8 and two doors, besides it's fun to drive. I wanted to get an idea of how this wheel combo would look and I was bored.

This is my cuda in its current state, well, it is more stripped now, but will be getting the full treatment over the next 18 months or unless I run out of money first.  :money:

Wow!  Those 17" Magnums look better than I thought!  I couldn't find any pics, sorry OzCuda.  :(

Sorry, off topic and not to hijack the thread:

Hey TKat13, the '04 Mach1 wheels work???  I thought those had like 6" of back spacing?  Do you have the stock suspension set up?  I sorta looked into the  Mustang Bullit style rims for my Challenger as you can get a set with tires for not too much $$$ but it looked like they had too much back spacing.  Any info appreciated!

My suspension is 100% original all the way down to the saggy leafs, shock may be original too, not sure. I have the wheels on both sides but the drivers side is really close to the leaf, too close for me, maybe a spacer would help? The second problem is the front, my front has stock disc brakes and the wheels will not go on. The center of the wheel is too small (dust cap area), but it is just barely too small. With aftermarket brakes it would not be a problem. I see the desire for the bullits as they are cheap but you may have other costs to make them fit, heck it could just be my car.

I am going with the magnums in 17", just like the red challenger photos.
