    They look very nice but i think that the buy-it-now is too steep. I picked up a driver side only earlier this year in similar condition for $300 off ebay which is what the going price seems closer to from my experiences.

    Have you seen they are reproducing E body mirrors and they have them in the paddock.  They are quite pricey though 450 for a chrome 70 drivers side and the same for pass side.  Has anybody seen the quality of these mirrors yet?

    True, I did hear/know about them but they sounded "iffy"..... :-\

    They sure are pricey.  :ack: But!, only the best will do for my Lucy.  :patriot: :grinyes: ;D

    i have the same dilemma..........i have the drivers side, all there but needs rechroming......I am needing just the passengers side........I heard these were starting to be reproduced......but $450...........hmm that is still pricey......very.     At this point the $900 is not big time outta line if you lack one and the other one needs chrome.........I think the price will dip in time for the repops..........I would save this purchase for the absolute last thing I did............something else might come along and/or the price may dip..........but if you have the ready cash NZ..........go for it.........cant fault you since your building a nice car...... :coffee:

     :iagree: Yeah i think they're a bit on the high side although more in line than the fellow who's gonna get $1500+ for an NOS late model Cuda grille  ::)  The quality is there, to be sure.

    Did you notice that he is hiding the mirror side from being seen?  Hmmmm!! I know from experience that the passenger side mirror can become wobbly and won't stay put in place. Anotherwards, the mirror part will droop.

    Hmmmmmmm, interesting point TC. I might just hang around as this is not a "must" item at this point in my resto.
    I might try and find the single mirrors on eBay that go for around $300-$400. That way I can pick ou one perfect one at a time......

    I have the same problem with my passenger side mirror.  If you know of a way to fix that problem I'd like to know.  I looked at the top section of the mirror assembly at http://www.shakerhood.com/catalog/index.php?cPath=23&osCsid=b9e4a44009407e24b6037be1cb0a00d3 but the piece was $385 and the bottom was $85.  I liked what I saw but the price was definately in my ouch range.  I'm thinking of just buying the top piece because my base isn't that bad.   The top is good but as mentioned it wobbles. Which sucks from a usability point of view.

    I thought about it for a while last night. I feel that trying to remove the mirror assembly from where it splines into may be a risk not worth trying. They're too rare and expensive to risk breaking. So...(and this may seem like a crazy idea) Have the mirror placed in an upright position. So that it could hold a small amount of water.
    With the inside of the mirror already painted, pour a small amount of rusty water in it. This would help freeze up that ball pivot point up so that it would be stiff on movement again....Hopefully.

    I like the idea about rusty water.  That is an incredibly idea.  I never would have thought of it but I think that would work.  I'll try it this weekend. :grinyes:
