Pistol grip
« on: July 27, 2005 - 05:43:43 PM »
I often see picuteres on the web featuring pistol grip shifters on automatics.

Yeah, I looks cool and all but it is utterly useless. What do you guys think about this ? :???:

I think it's good and have one myself, better feel longer reach.
There are two kinds.

 - HARMS Tilt Pistol Grip (The best IMO)
 - AutoGrip by Gunslinger, straight up and down with a trigger.

I think they add style. Straightline are what these cars were made for and often in books you'll find more speed freaks going for the TF-727 so why not get something to slap or slam while cleaning out the track?  :D 8) ;)

Actually a couple members have them already.   I think they look pretty cool but as for useful . . . as long as it still slams the gears, I good with it.    :grinyes:

You could say that about stripes, vinyl tops ( NZ would agree there ) , wheels, badges etc.   Looks play a part in why you like your car as much as function.

Don't hate vinyl tops or stripes, just on my car IMO they don't belong there.
Triple Black cars, plum crazy they are more suited.  ;D

I think the look of a pistol grip on an slap stik is great and plan on it for mine.
What's the difference on what you use to shift from 1st to 2nd to3rd or from D to R to P it's all about style and the pistol grip has it.

 :iagree:

The Slapstik is a unique feature to MoPar as is the manual pistol grip shift, combine them together for yet another nice combo.

When you are rebuilding a car and putting so much time, effort an money into it, you will make it the way you want it.  For our car, I could not live with putting the "do-do ball" shifter back in there.  I hated the look of that thing from the first time I saw it.  So we went with a Harms shifter also and we love it.

You have two cars for sale with automatics

They will sell faster if you put a pistol grip on them.

NZ, you're gonna love it!   Doesn't rattle at all and fits perfectly in your hand.  One of our best non-standard purchases!  Althought the cutouts are a close 2nd.  :grinyes:
