Ima nother newbie
« on: July 27, 2005 - 07:50:16 PM »
Hey Gang,

Just joined a month or two ago.  Bought a '73 'Cuda from a guy up in Utah in April.  My brother-in-law, know local to his area as Mr. Mopar found it for me.

Here are some specifics on my car:

-1973 'Cuda orig. 318 car, now with a 1971 360
-motor has Keith Black 11:1 pistons, Lunati cam (235 dur, .507 lift), Edelbrock Torker II, Holley 650
-trans is 727, with 3500 stall and a shift kit
-rear is 3:91 gearset with SureGrip
-color was originally JA5 Silverfrost Metallic, now its a darker shade Moulin Rouge with two black racing stripes running from the leading edge to the simulated scoop openings
-15x8 Torque Thrust IIs on BFG 225/275 wheels

Oh yeah, I live in southern California.  This is my third MOPAR.  I also have a 2004 Dodge Ram 1500 HEMI p/u, and briefly owned a 1974 Duster.

Nice car, where did you get your 360 hockey stripe?   My Cuda was a 318 car, now has a 360.  BTW, I thought they didn't come out with the 360 til 1974.

Welcome to the site!!!  That is one sweet 'Cuda you have there.

As for the question about a '71 360 block, I believe they were installed in pickup trucks around that time, so maybe that's where it originally came from?  (I remember my cousin had a '71 date-coded 360 in his '66 Valiant Signet that I believe came out of a truck or camper.)

yeah, I am pretty sure it is a truck motor.  It was in the car when I got it, but as others have said, it didn't really make it to cars until 1974.

The 360 stripe was on the car when I got it.  However, I think you can get them from Phoenix Graphics (www.phoenixgraphics.com).  I am pretty sure I saw them on their website too.

I believe that the pre-74 360s came from trucks and vans.

Also, those are professional looking pics.  Amuatur photographer?

And, finally....
