NZ - Resto Update (Heaps of Photos)
« on: July 27, 2005 - 11:26:03 PM »

Went into to see my Challenger today and there was a lot of the annoying jobs completed.

 - HT leads fitted and they are excellent. Just waiting on a few 60* boots to fit to the dizzy to make the fit even snuger on it.
 - Doors on but not "on". Still it's more of a look into the future.
 - Rear end is nearing completion, rear insulation black boot liner is 60% complete and looks awesome, great craftsmanship.
 - The original Carter AVS 4bbl is in and rebuilt. The previous owner(s) removed the choke, sourcing one now.
 - Seat frames etc are getting marked and checked before powdercoat etc
 - Power Window Harness was checked cleaned and re-wrapped. Also the dome light harness had the same done and installed.
- Tail lights will be in tommorrow, if all goes to plan the exterior rear end, trunk, trunk insulation and trunk lid will be complete within a week.

Here are the photos, nothing major as in terms of "getting" there but to me it was awesome!! Photos don't do it justice.

Everything is being done professionally. A car like this should be done professionally unless the worker is capabale, I am not.  :)
I source parts and am learning as we go a long.

How much the seats will cost to recover? Not sure, won't be too bad.
The seats in the photos are off eBay and we are only using the frames. I have new YO seat foam and seat covers for all seats.

In the next two weeks progress should go up one more gear.

Thanks for the comments lads.

Lucy is looky pretty terrific, Carl!!  Are you going to be able to be there for the first fire up?

Your choice on your gas cap and the decision to not go with a vinyl top really turned out great looking.  Those guys look like they are doing a fantastic job!  Won't be long now!

Thanks REV, I do like the vinyl top option and the gas cap but didn't think it would be right for my color combo.
Looks right at home on yours and the majority of the other members but white is a weird color.  :)

Yip!!  :D I'll DEFINITELY be there for the fire up, I told them call me and they said they wouldn't do it without me.
It's still a wee way away as they don't want to start it up until it's 95% complete so the engine doesn't sit around and become stagnant.

Thanks for the support.

Taking in my new drivers/passenger door glass tommorrow so they can set up the inetrior windows.
They said it's a little arkward getting the windows properly linned up and perfect.  ;D

I like it...didn't think I would (not enough blingage), but I think you really had foresight on this!  It really looks nice and clean and straight!

That is really a pain in the arse!! Did they ever figure out those rear window guides?

Yip, they did exactly what you did after I told them.  ;) So if it doesn't work I'll blame you and Redline.  ;D
Looked good and he said it works superb, they only did the right rear. The left was perfect and just needed a quick clean up.

Thanks once again for the parts and idea. Thats two pieces of your Challenger in Lucy.  :D :grinyes:
