So does the front of the car have the same original color paint on it?

The original color was FY1. As you can see, it is now black. Thats for the whole car. ALL panels show signs of the original yellow paint!

I cant tell from your pic, but does it have the trim holes on the tail panel like in FY1 Rt SE's pic? The 1970 'cuda had the narrow trim as where the Gran Coupe had the wide trim on the trunk & 1/4's and base barracuda had none. All this being said , such an early built car could have had an oddball variety of trim/emblem variations.
If I remember right the red 'cuda used in the earliest promos was a hemi with shaker hood and had barracuda emblem on tail panel.
Any way if its right for your car you will have people telling you its wrong.

It has the holes for the trim that goes around the taillights and the long ones that they attach to. They are the narrow trim. I dont know if I have seen Rt SE's pic....

I am thinking that it is just a oddball deal that happened to this car. Everyone knows that Mopar did some off the wall things with these cars when they came off the line, at least that is what I am hoping for. If its looking like thats how it came from the factory, thats how its going to be when I am done with it.

Not everyone is a expert on these cars, and if people are telling me that its wrong, thats fine.

Normal aint always norml!

You can find the VIN on the radiator support by standing in front of the car looking into the engine bay, lean in and look between the support and the radiator on the left side. It should be stamped into the radiator support right where the radiator ends on the left side when looking into engine bay.

I've also heard of it being stamped in the trunk lip under the weather strip seal.

Since the car is not the original color this says that someone changed things.  So I wouldn't be suprise if the Barracuda badge was put on at the same time or after the car was re-painted.  I can't remember if the orginal cuda' badges were mounted with studs, but I think they were.  (Can anyone on the board confirm that).  If so, you can try looking on the inside of the trunk to see if there are any signs of the holes being filled in on the tail panel where the cuda' badge would have been.  Keep us posted on what you find out.

No holes for the 'Cuda emblem.  If the factory mistakenly drilled a hole then no turning back it continued to drill the other two.

No, it can't be, due to the VIN starts with BS23 which means it is a Cuda' hardtop.  If it was a Gran Coupe the VIN would have started with BP23.
