Its the luxery edition of barracuda's like mine that has door ajar warning light, seat belt warning light, low fuel warning light, overhead console, leather seats ect.How could there be any cons?Afterall it is a Barracuda!!!!!!!.The only thing i would say is they we commonly 318 cars and a few, like mine, was ordered with a 383-4 and was the biggest engine you could get, mine is numbers matching. They made 674 of my car in 70.These was been cloned into a cuda's in the past.I would keep it as a gran coupe if it is numbers,or even if it isnt, there arent that many left and will become more rare

They also had an adjustable seat on the drivers side, wood accent trim on the doors. Leather seats were an option.

Nope,383-4 was the biggest

   :iagree: :iagree: :iagree:

Just like the Challenger S/E. The 383 was the biggest engine available.

My 71 cuda clone was a gran coupe. Had the o/h console, leather interior, bulge hood, a/c, ps, pb, wood grain standard cluster, 318, auto/console with bucket seats,  door/qtr  belt moldings, qtr/deck lid trim. Was much more rare as a gran coupe.
I also have a 70 gran coupe, front elasto bumper, rear chrome, bulge hood, 318 auto/console, non a/c, rallye gauges, door/qtr belt mldgs. ps, pb, o/h console.
A couple of years ago I was at the nats and everytime a gran coupe drove by everybody went nuts. I guess they've finally gained acceptance.

I believe the 1970 standard equipment was the same.

The slant was an option on the 70 model Gran Coupes, I ve had people say they have never seen one but i have a numbers matching Yellow 70 Gran Coupe with the six, white leather, slap stik auto and A/C plus a host of other options. It was ordered by a friend who was a car salesman in Alabama. I purchased it in 1978 after he went into selling insurance. Must be pretty rare......

I have a gran coupe convertible in dy3 yellow gold in plymouth, cream in dodge. Was  a one year only model in convertible. Around 600 made. Many have been cloned. So I think that  I am going to leave mine alone. Would be nice to hear from other Gran coupe convertible  owners.

In the 1970 model year, you could order a cuda with a gran coupe option package. That would give you the overhead console, the fabric headliner, and the woodgrain inserts in the door panels and the leather seats. The car would not get the "gran coupe" badging, as it was a cuda (BS23). I've seen maybe one or two of these. My 71 has the gran coupe options added to it, but i don't believe it was available in 71 in a cuda..although Ive heard some people swear they saw that optional package in 71 cuda's from the factory.

Those are pages out of the 1971 Factory Brochure.  I have the 1970 one but not handy right now, that is why I said I believe they are the same, with that said a /6 '70 GC would make sense as the SE was available with the /6 in '70 also.
