The slant was an option on the 70 model Gran Coupes, I ve had people say they have never seen one but i have a numbers matching Yellow 70 Gran Coupe with the six, white leather, slap stik auto and A/C plus a host of other options. It was ordered by a friend who was a car salesman in Alabama. I purchased it in 1978 after he went into selling insurance. Must be pretty rare......

Wait a minute, White leather?? Can I see the fender tag code for that. I do not remember ever seeing white as an available option for leather back in the day.

They did make 211 6cyl gran Coupes in 70.  The base engine in 71 Grand Coupes was a 318.  The gran coupe was also a convertibe in 1970(596) but not 1971.

My 71 gran coupe had white leather interior but unfortunately the data plate is long gone.
We took the seats apart ourselves and they were the original covers.

Here's a pic of my car today as a cuda clone. You can see remnants of the gran coupe stuff, the woodgrain gauge bezel, leather seats and the door inserts. What you can't see is the overhead console and fabric headliner.

Hey Hotrod.  I resized that for ya.  Pretty cool pic...I've never seen woodgrain on a standard dash before.

Thanks for the resize. I actually posted the wrong version of that pic.
The woodgrain bezel is standard on all gran coupe's and se's that have the standard dash I think.
70 challengers se's may have the ribbed bezel though, maybe someone else can tell us.
I like the Gran Coupe leather seat covers in 71 a lot more than the pillow look standard seat covers.  The standard 70 gran coupe seat covers were pretty nice though.

That would look good with white leather. I wonder why Challengers only had black, brown or Burnt orange.

Yeah, all rally guages had woodgrain.  I've never seen "regular" or "standard" guages with woodgrain.  Very interesting.

I laughed when I read that.  :grinyes: Rally gauges without the woodgrain is something I haven't seen. I'm not sure I want to either.
