bump.  Sorry, I haven't been messing with my cuda in a long time (been getting my 87 Shelby GLHS daily driver into the mid 12s) and I am now going to focus my attention on the cuda.  I will be getting a set of 308 heads shortly and start porting on them.  With the combination I have, what cam should I use?  Someone mention Engle of Ultradyne earlier.  Which cam, specifically do you think I should go for?  My father is a big believer in Comp Cams in his race engines, but I want to get a opinion from everyone else.  I stated earlier that I wanted to run 12.7s, but I think now I would rather get it to around 12.50s.  (Can't have my 4-banger daily driver be beating my muscle car  :grinno:)

Thanks, Tyler

extra lift doesn`t seem top make a big difference with the 308 castings , so it really comes down to getting a cam with the duration you need to get the powerband in the RPM range you want , , longer duration cams seem to work well & help the great exhaust port scavenging to pull in the intake charge

Any recommendations?  Or should I stick with my MP purple cam? (284 duration, 484 lift, 108 centerline).  The thing I really hate about this cam is that it has no power down low.  It has to be above 4500 rpm to make any power.  From 4500, or really 5000 to 6800 it really makes good power.

I would look at a K 56 or K58 Engle , it will idle better & have better lowend power
