Wow! The closing bid was $305! Is that a special 8-Track or is it a run of the mill type and your just looking for any 8-track to put in your car? BTW I also have a '72 Rallye in Super Blue. Nice to see your car as this combo is not real common. Mine has the body side moulding so the side louvers were deleted. My car came with an after market 8 track under the dash. It's cool to play 8-tracks through it in an old car as that was the mode of audio back then! Cassette? What's a casette?
I liked that 8 track player b/c it looks chromed out, as a matter of fact, I found a guy on ebay who has a brand new one, I asked him how much, he said there was one that just sold on ebay for 305, so give me 205. Damm, he knew about that auction.
I told him that there were just 2 guys bidding against eachother in that auction and that they were crazy.
So we agreed on 200, including shipping.
Now I gotta figure where I'm gonna put it, I want it to show, it's so cool looking.
But right now, in the most logical spot- under the dash- I already have the controls for my vintage a/c system.
With regards to your car, I'd prefer myself to not have the louvers, just either a body molding like you have or a full length r/t stripe, even if the car wasn't an r/t.
My orig new challenger, which I bought back in 71, was med blue with a white top & inside and a powered sunroof.
I bought this 72 sight unseen, off ebay.
And if I went to a shoowroom to buy a car the way we used too, I don't think I woulda picked the super blue.
But when the shipping co delivered my sight unseen super blue, I fell in love with it, lol.
Is that the pioneer 900 that we were talking about in another thread?
If it is, there is a mint one on ebay now for about 20 bucks, it looks really sharp- maybe ya need some parts or use the best of both.
