here it TC's floor.

you can see the 4 holes for the REGULAR seat track

There are some dimples that are not drilled out, you can see three really well, but the one on the bottom right is just partially visible.

For the 6 way seat and brackets you would have all 8 holes drilled in the floor not just 4

To answer some of the other questions and more information in no particular order at all....

Tony's Parts sells both chrome adjuster knobs for these.

The reproduction under floor bracket kit from Harms fits perfectly, great parts.

Power seat adjusters were not available in E-bodies - manual only.

Installing an E-Body 6-way adjuster in an E-Body is easy, I added one to my 1971 Challenger when I had a broken back. It made it much more comfortable to drive. The Challenger was easier to get in an out of than my Ram 3500.

The "6-way" name is a bit misleading, the up and down positions at the front and rear have several settings each, so you can slam it to the floor, or raise both up close to three inches I bet? I have not counted, but I bet there are close to 16 seperate settings possible just with the front / rear up and down settings and many more if you include the front to back adjustments.

I will be installing one in my T/A soon and I will take lots of photos. I will write it up as a technical article and add it to one of my websites. If time allows I will have the article ready by the end of the month?

Oh yeah, I LOVE my 6-way seat adjuster.

T/Ake care,
Barry

Yeah, I want one because my 'Cuda isn't as comfortable as my first one seemed to be. I think it has more to do with the fact that a 17 year old body had a little more flex and give to it than my 39 year old body has now. Sucks getting old.

Keep in mind that "B" and "E" Body 6 ways are different.

Here are photos of the E-Body only six way seat adjuster - The B-Body ones are different.

Hey Joe,
I figured it was worth mentioning again since the photo posted earlier in the thread is not for an E-body. I know that you knew that.

Nick at www.pantherpink.com did a "seat adjuster" ID page a while back, but I do not see it listed on his site. I just emailed him about it, I will post the link here once he gets back to me.

Hey Robb,
Since you own a car that came with the seat adjuster originally, can you tell me or post a photo of the circled areas below? It looks like they may have been designed for screws?

Thanks,
Barry

Now for the big question:  Where in the hell can you get this without paying through the nose.  ALthough, I am very far away from needing it, I still would like to get some leads.  I think Tony's has them but after been that aggressive in purchasing them.  I've seen them on ebay but always a little more than I am willing to spend.  I guess as I get closer to needing them then I will pursue them harder.

As I said before, this is the greastest site I have seen in a long while.  All of you are interested in our projects and are willing to supply needed information upon request.  THANKS:  :worship:

It has been said that the E & B body 6 ways are different. How and in what way are they different. Just curious.

Yes, you guessed right Barry.

See the little 1/8 inch holes in the in the straps between the two studs (straps being the smaller items below each bracket)

Yes a little self tapping trim screw goes in to secure it to the floor pan body, to hold it in place for when you put the nuts on the studs from under the car.  The holes you have circled, are just for clearance of that screw.

The straps mount from the interior and face down through the floor.

A word of warning about 6-way seats -

If you are over 6'2", these will make it almost impossible to drive!  :banghead: :banghead:

I am 6'3" and had a Butterscotch '71 Challenger that cam from the factory with the six way seat, after spenind a ton of time and money getting the car roadworthy, I discovered on my first drive around the block that it was impossible for me to drive without my legs hitting the sterrting wheel - SOOOOO, I sold the car! :'(

Thanks for your input Gary. I am 6ft-1" on a good day and before resto my legs would hit the steering wheel.
I changed to the smaller diameter tuff wheel to elimante this problem. Maybe you didn't have to sell your car?  :-\
