I learned in a 4 speed Hillman Husky.  A 1200cc engine with a one barrel carb.  My dad loved those cars and we could pull an engine and tranny out of them in three hours on friday.  Work on the engine on Saturday/Sunday and have the car running by 6:00 Sunday evening so he could drive it to work on Monday.  My first V8 I owned was my 1970 challenger convertible with a 318 that I bought in 1994 for $3,000.  He wanted $3,500 but my sister said it was probably a junker so offer $3,000.  Life has been good to me... :grinyes:

I *officially* learned in a Mercury Zephyr because it was an auto and that's all I had to drive during the test. I had been driving with my dad in his Dodge Omni 2.2 liter stick shift car before that. Once I got my license I drove a Ford Escort for two months while staying at my dad's place for the summer and when I got home I had my 70 Challenger and 68 Charger for the next several years.

Learned to drive in a 50 GMC 3/4 ton, 235 six, 4 speed, Dad still has that truck (brought me home from the hospital in it).
My first was a Datsun truck, at the age of 12, the first legal vehicle was my beloved 71 D200.

First off Pixie, consider yourself lucky to drive in the Hemi truck...with that said, I first learned to drive a stick in my '61 Studebaker Champ pickup around our field....Then it was what was going to be my '86 Toyota Corolla coupe RWD up until my dad hit a mule deer in Wyoming and wrecked that.  My current driver beater is the '91 Rustolla 4dr.
