Learning to drive with a HEMI ?!?!
« on: August 05, 2005 - 04:06:07 PM »
I'm probably the biggest procrastinator in all the world. "Why?" you ask. Well I will be 17 soon- and I just got my driving permit yesterday. :o :???: :o  haha! Silly me!

But get this....the "Rents" are allowing me to learn to drive in the HEMI!!! I've got HEMI power under my feet!
Just wondering what everyone else learned to drive in.

Let's see I drove a beastly 3.9L V6 (Pre-Magnum) 87 Dodge Dakota Reg Cab Long Bed 2wd as my first vehicle.

And oh yeah if you want to scare your parents in the HEMI floor it at 20 mph when the road is wet just make sure you learn how to the gas pedal so you don't loose to control because the tires will spin until the computer says no more fun.  :dogpile: :grinyes:

I had to take my driving test in a 73 Suburban...trying to parallel park that thing was fun :banghead: Once I got my license, Dad let me drive the Challenger around while it was still in race trim (4.30 gears w/ sticky street tires) Got to drive it til my 65 Barracuda was road ready...all I got to say is he REALLY trusted me :fire:

I was taught by my Grandfather in his 66 Falcon....200-inline 6 cyl with the 3spd manual trans shifted on the column....Manual steering and brakes.  What a trip!!  This was in '79 and the car had 44k on it then!  Imagine that!!

71'cuda340.....We still own our 87 New Yorker....it has got to be the smoothist ride I've ever drove/rode in!!!

I believe I learned in a K-car but I got kicked out of drivers training for driving to drivers training before I had a license.   :spank:
