I love my floors. Found a build sheet?
« on: August 05, 2005 - 05:51:17 PM »
Well I have spent the last week in Florida with the Mouse and it was a magical experince. It was my birthday yesterday but waited to get home today to celebrate and wanted to share my cake with all of you. My wife is great.

As some of you know my 70 Challenger R/T arrive on the 25th of July and we went to the mouse's house on the 29th . Little time to do much but pull the seat and carpet. Man I love my floors! I found under the carpet stuck to the floor a build sheet. I can make out very little of the sheet and needs some advice on how to remove the thing without completely tearing it apart and if anyone can help decifer what is on the sheet. I had to check on my car before I even unpacked and took these shots.

Congradulations on the find, I'm not sure how to get it up without destroying it. It looks like a very nice project.  Oh, by the way Happy B-Day.

Awesome condition project, great cake design, a wonderful wife. What more can a man ask for?!

Happy birthday, Richard!

Did you check between the rear deck panel and the trunk for any build sheets?

Wow. I do not know how you would save that one unless you cut the floor out around it. Those floors are to nice for that. Were there any other pieces that came out with the carpet?  Did you look inside of both of the front seat backs yet? There may be more broadcast sheets in them.

T/Ake care,
Barry

I would leave it in place.  Get some clear epoxy and coat the area to preserve the floor and the build sheet.  If you have a very good digital camera I would take some close-ups and then print out the "build sheet" so you can have a copy of it.  On the 71 Cuda I just had we found one and a quarter build sheets, as well as a shredded mouse house in the headliner with little pieces of build sheet.

Check:  Behind the seatbacks on the seats, under the seats, above the glove box, in the headliner, and both parts of the rear seat.  We found the best on on the back of the rear seat.  Good Luck!

Hello Richard and happy birthday.......hmm dont know what to say about the build sheet.........only a small margin of it is readable...............and it looks like it would completly come apart if you tried to move it.........perhaps the idea of sealing it with epoxy would be good.........i would take up close pics as closely as you can get with a good camera for documentation..........

The 4th line down says you have very little rust.
