As promised: Plum Crazy 71 Hemi Cuda Convertible
« on: August 07, 2005 - 10:31:58 PM »
I know it`s been a looong time, but here it is. Thanks to everyone who gave me advice and detail ideas. This is in 1:25 scale, and took all but 8 months to complete. Let me know what you think.
I originally built this to sell, and I will consider selling, but I am relluctant to let it go now.

I haven`t come up with a figure yet on this one. My Corvettes usually went for $310 to $350 on auction.

This one was mainly a combination of two kits. I also added different diameter wiring for the heater hoses, fuel lines, brake lines, ignition, etc. The interior tub was finished with flocking material for the carpet, which really looks convincing. The decals were bought from an aftermarket source.

Thanks again everyone for the complements!

All I can say is, "WOW!!!"  At first glance I thought it was a real car!

How do you glue the headlights so the glue doesn't fog up the plastic?  I'm I just using way too much glue????

I like to do models too and I can really appreciate the level of detail you put into it.  I really love the paint and the wood grain.  You can practically read the date coding on the hoses!  If you don't mind, here's a few shots of the model I made of my '72 Challenger.  It's not done to the same detail as yours.  It's from a japanese kit (Fujimi) as they were the only ones I could find making a '72-'74 Challenger.  Also other bits and pieces from other kits.  Again, "WOW!!!".

1972 Dodge Challenger Rallye 340, AT, Code TB3=Super Blue, SBD=8/17/1971.  Yes, a Rallye without the fender louvers from the factory because of the body side molding option.
