Might sell the Dart....
« on: August 08, 2005 - 02:43:19 PM »
Because I found this car.

1967 Barracuda Notchback.

Saw this car, and, decided to ask the owner if she was for sale.  He answered with "Make me an offer".  I want to know what a decent offer would be.  She's a 273 auto car, driver.  The original rims would come with it.  Some rust in the usual places, like the lower 1/4s, but, no worse than my Dart.  2nd gen Barracudas are one of my favorite cars, so, I'd really love to buy her.

Ghost,
One thing that stands out to me is those rear tires. Are they slicks??? I'm just wondering if it's set-up for the track, or a regular street car.

They don't look like slicks to me.  :dontknow: :grinno: Can see the tread pattern.  :grinyes:

I actually prefer the shape of the Dart myself, but what do I know.  :( I like the A-Body Fastbacks though.

Nope, not slicks.  It's a regular street car, just with oversized tires on the back.  If I do get her, those tires will be the first things to go.

why?

Because, they don't look right.  Also, the owner told me they rub.  Which is not good, since it would be my daily driver.

Hey Ghost, did he give you a clue of how much he might want? If not, offer him what you would be willing to pay and see if he takes it. I would see if he laughs at you if you offer him 1500.00 and at least that's a starting point. Good Luck!

Okay, I can sell the Dart for 1k (had a friend offer me 2k for it, but I don't want to rip her off).  I think I can get a loan for the rest.  I'll start by offering him 2500, and work from there.  If he goes over 3500, I'll have to let her go.

360 cuda.....isn't that what alot of its about is style??? i mean....would you buy a butt ugly go fast car?? or a nice looking go fast car??? which would be better???   not tring to piss you off...just asking...actually....if someone offered me 2000 i'd say hey i'll take the 2000 but i'm going to tell you that this  is a POS....just tell her straight up what the car is and if she still offers 2000 then you're not ripping her off shes ripping her self off so then you shouldn't feel so bad...as long as your honest then you won't rip anyone off...they just screw themselves...

That Barracuda would be a very cool little ride, but he may be looking to get a little more than what it's actually worth.  Whatever you do, just make sure you don't become carless during this whole operation. ;)  Good luck with it!
