Disk Brake Hoses
« on: August 08, 2005 - 08:45:59 PM »
I just bought some hoses for the front disk brakes on my 70 Challenger. Went to put them on and found out they are a different style than the ones on there now.  :banghead: I'm thinking the brakes may have been added to the car.

Any ideas what these brakes are off of (so that I can get parts that fit) or are they correct for this car? The new line I have is the type that screws directly into the housing. (looks like this: http://www.challengertaregistry.com/photos/ta_tech/tabrakes_005.jpg) The line on the car now has a 7/16" ID banjo fitting. The end of the hose that attaches to the steel line from the master cylinder is identical on both hoses.

Here are pictures of the line and the brake caliper piston housing:

Looks like the banjo fitting used on the late 70's cars.  Is the caliper to the rear of the spindle?

Thanks!  The calipers are to the rear. I'll see if the later hoses will work.
