    Question For The Board?

    Okay, so the question I have for the board is how much have you lost/made on certain vehicles that you have or had in your collection? Just curious to hear from those of you who can reply?

    Well, I'm a newbie at this collecting hobby.  I currenty have a 70 Challenger RT/SE that we just finished restoring.  Bought it for $4,400 and now it's worth upwards of $40,000.  Did pretty good on that one.  The other car we just bought my daughter is a 74 Duster.  We paid $1300 for it.  When it's done, I estimate it being worth maybe $8,000.... still not bad.  But of course...we won't be selling them at all.

    i bought my charger for 18k back in 01.  shes a numbers rt 4 speed.  hard to say how much shes worth but id guess around 40 or so.  i read an article a few months back talking about muscle cars vs the stock market for investment purposes over the last few years.  the cars won hands down, by a huge margin at that.

           I'd say you're probably right as long as you don't overpay for one and can afford to keep certain models. But, you both have awesome cars and wish I would have bought one when I first came in the Air Force.

    I got mine for $24K  :laughing: But, butu, hear me out....have seen #2 T/A Challengers go for $75K down here.  ;) :thumbs:



    I'd try and sell mine for $85K if nothing then come down. (Yes, thats $85K to you guys but if I bought it over I'd get less due to the fact of the conversion currency and that there are more of these cars over there.)  ;D ;) ;D ;) Like Laura, I'm never selling.  :grinno: :grinno: :grinno:

    Wow that's a lot of dough NZ. I don't think both my Challenger and Ram add up to be that much.

    Looks great but you can spot many things on the car that are very used and not in the best condition, still alovely car none-the-less.

    Well, I too am a newbie to the collection hobby.  However, I paid a purchase price of $1,750.00 for my '73 and I expect it to be worth somewhere around the $15,500-$18,500.00 marker when it's completed. (NADA estimates the total to be around $21,500.00 with today's car market place.) :eekbig: ::)

    i think i'm gonna make on both of my cars and one of my trucks...got my 74 duster free nothing to special slant six (no motor) in resto...only bought quarters for 450 so thats all i have in it...my demon i got for free and no motor or tranny...(rough) don't know how much i'll put into it...my 91 dodge truck that i'm getting is for free also...dont' know what i'll have in that...also my 92 dakota i'm not gonna make a dime on...i think i'm gonna fall short...asking 3500 out of it and thats about what i have in it maybe more...
