Lets see your Trucks!
« on: August 12, 2005 - 07:59:35 PM »
I know lots of us here own trucks, so lets see em! Here is my truck, bought it to tow my 2005 Haulmark 22 foot enclosed trailer. 2000 Ram 2500 CTD quad cab, 4X4. Aftermarket exhaust, ARE fiberglass bed cover and full running boards. I plan on "bombing" the engine and installing a pyrometer and a fuel pressure gage. I love this diesel, never go back to a gas engine pickup!

1998 V-10 SWB Q/C

mods to date are headers and Cold air intake. Pulls my 29ft th wheel great and pulls the enclosed 24' car hauler even better.  Oh ya, it's very very quiet!!   ;D

Almost forgot, old picture still has chrome wheel lips, truck now has painted fender flares.

JS27, hows the gas mileage with the V-10? That is a NICE truck! I was considering one of them, but the diesel fuel economy swayed me to them. I get 22MPG on the highway, towing i get around 14-15 loaded running 70-75 MPH.

BTW...one thing this truck is not is QUIET!    LOL

I get 18 on the highway empty and 10-12 pulling trailers. If I were to do it again, I would go for a 2003 or newer diesel. I actually prefer the early HO's(555 ft/lb) as they are a little quieter than the new 600 motors.

Another mod that I did was installed trailer tow mirrors and converted the arms from a new body style truck and wired it to my non power style bases so that I now have power/heated trailer tow mirrors on a BE truck body, might be the only one.. boy is that rare, I better go to e-bay, lol.

Here is my '04 ram.  I wanted a manual trans in my truck so I had to settle for the 4.7 instead of the hemi.   :(

Don't be crying about no HEMI. At least you got 8 spark plugs to change versus the 16 the HEMI has. Not to mention the 4.7L is a good engine. Not as powerful who cares. I've had two HEMI trucks in the past. The first one was lemon. Had all types of computer and engine issues. Then the stealership cut me a good deal on an 04 HEMI. Better truck but, a little more hyped than it should be. My 4.7L does good engine for me.

This is our '03 Hemi Ram 1500.  I love this truck, but will eventually trade it in for a diesel.  Hauled the Challenger from Atlanta to Carlisle....no problems.

Don't be crying about no HEMI.

Ya, every time I fill up at the pump I am glad that I didn't get a hemi.  The extra spark plugs would be a ***** too. I had quad cab hemi ram as a rental vehicle one time and I really liked it.  I am just tired of getting smoked at the stoplights by hemi's and 360 rams.   :nopity:  When the challenger is done I will have my revenge! :rice:
