If you still have the door VIN decal that has the build date on it

My white car is 12/73

My door VIN decal just has the month and year.  I don't have a fender tag or build sheet.

Since we're talking build dates, something occured to me.  As I previously mentioned, my car was made on 8/17/71.  It was purchased by the original owner on 8/31/71.  That's only a time span of 2 weeks.  This was not a preordered car but something he bought sitting on the lot in New Hampshire.

When the car is made on the build date, what is the time process of the actual build, when it leaves the plant, and when it gets to the dealership?  By 1971 standards I thought 2 weeks is pretty quick.  Sorry if these are little wierd nit picky questions but just curious, not to hijack this thread.  :)

My Hemi car has a build date of 12/01/69.Its a70 cuda. Its b7 blue with a white gut.It has an auto with a 4.10 dana I have changed it around quite a bit. I have just aquired a BS23UOB.Its orange with a black gut with a 4speed and of course a dana. It has a build date of 10/31/69.HALLOWEEN .It is also a N96 Shaker car.It is also a complete basket case with a missing driveline, but it is very solid.A flipper friend of mine actually bought this car on 9/11.It got passed around with everyone taking something, until the last guy traded it to me for a running ,driving Charger.Iam well aware of the N96 controversy regarding non hemi and non six pack cars on 70 model year cars.I know the build date does not jive with the date that they were supposedly available, but I do believe it is real.
