ah im pissed
« on: September 24, 2005 - 12:45:24 PM »
So the other day I had thought I blew both my subs and my amp. So today i went out on bought two new subs and a new amp so i get that all hooked up in my truck two wires crossed just like with my old amp. Then I remember that the amps can enter safe mode so i disconeccted the battery again then hooked it up and the amp worked so i took the new one of my truck and plugged back in the old one and it worked  >:( . So now i wasted my money on a new amp that sucked because it didnt have quite as much power as my old one. I wish I would have checked things out before spending my money. O'well now ill just see if I can trade the amp in for two 6x9's because they dont do refunds at the auction.

OR you could always run two amps, one for the subs and one for the inside speakers. Of course you'll be deaf in a few weeks but who cares, you can just turn up the speakers even more LOL

i had two 12" audiobauhns that blew i don tknow how they blew those are supposed to be really tough and now i have two 12" c4 subs not quite sure which brand i just know a few of my friends have them and i like the sound of them plus they can handle up to 1200 watts of peak power. and then i traded the new amp for two pioneer 6x9's and my deck puts out 200watts so that should be enough to power the speakers

JRoss22,
You sound alot like me. Whenever a problem rears it's ugly head, I always replace the most expensive component in the system first.  :-[ :-[ :-[ Then I go back and fix what is really wrong.  :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: Hey, you are young. At least you can learn from us that have chased our own tails trying to figure things out. I'm not saying that proudly.

Weve probally all done that forgetting to trouble shoot first because of frustration caused by everyhting. well so far all has worked out for me except trying to install the 6x9's into my rear door on my truck its a little tricky plus I had to stop early from doing it do to the lightning that has just started here.

actually i had figured out why they blew my amp has 1000watts and the subs combined could only handle 800 and someone cranmked up the power on the amp which blew the subs but my new ones can handle 600watts each
