I need a bunch of opinions!  I have a 1970 Challenger R/T and it's had a body-off resto.  The engine is a 383 but is not the original motor but is a date-coded block (1970).  The car is supposed to have air but the restorer did not put it back.  Even though it does not have hood pins on the fender tag, I put them on because it just didn't seem right without them.  OK other than those things it is original.  I really want to put a wing on it and I have heard that for a 1970 model it is ok for the the wing (and hoodpins) NOT to be on the fender tag since the dealer could have installed them...this changed in 1971 and these options would have been on the fender tag.  Question 1:  Would it be totally nuts to put on a wing since its not on the fender tag...ie would it seriously affect the value negatively?  Question 2:  Does Year One make the best wing kit and is it very hard to do without screwing up the trunk lid?  Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

   That's a gorgeous car you have there.  :thumbs: I was all set to say "wing it", until I saw the bumble bee stripe in back. You either have that, or the go-wing, but having both just doesn't look right.

I have the go wing and a bumble bee stripe on my 73, and it looks just fine.  It is entirely up tp you, whatever makes you happy is what is correct.

If it were my car & already finished, I'd have a tough time drilling holes to mount the wing. I would however, hunt down a second trunk lid, have it painted, & put the wing on that. If that isn't an option & you really like the wing, do it. I don't think it would hurt the value unless it was an all original survivor.

I'd have a tough time drilling holes too. Old Moparz' idea is a pretty good one, that way if it doesn't look quite right, you can just swap back again.

IMO the wings on the ebody cars look too much like an after thought by the designers, all though they still look good on the cars. I think the cars look better with out them.

We bought a wing for our chally with the intention of putting it on (of course).  We couldn't get to it before Carlisle and since then, have been leaning towards not putting it on at all.  I think your stripe looks great by itself...I don't think I'd wing it.

I think challengers look much better w/o the spoiler as long as it has the wrap-around bumble bee stripe.

I have to say that with all the opinions I am just going to forget about the wing since I have the bumblebee stripe...I was on the fence but now I am convinced that the car looks better without the wing.  I agree that the smooth look off the back is awesome and to boot I have not found but three pictures (of hundreds) that I have collected with a bumblebee stripe and a wing.  No wing looks better by far.  Thanks for all the opinions...hope to see you guys on the road somewhere soon.
