To all that can help,

As stated on the main board, I'm new at this but absolutely love Mopars - What is it about them that attracts us so much:

The radical colors and Graphics?
The beautiful styling?
The Power?

Answer: of course, all of the above.

Now my tech question:

I have a 1970 Hemi 'Cuda as stated on the post's main board and everything is absolutely stock on it with these two exceptions:

1 It has the Hockey Stick Stripe - mine came according to the buildsheet, a stripe delete car.

2 It has the ralleye wheels and it came with the painted steel rims

My question, would you take the stripes off and put the correct wheels on (by the way as you probably know, these wheels are extremely hard to find) or would you keep both?

Tell me you would keep both because as mentioned above, these two components of Mopars are what make Mopars Mopars, but let me know honestly what you would do.

Now for a more techinical subject:

I take my car out once a month to "stretch its legs" so to speak so its not a garage queen, and although it runs very strong, I'd like to know if there is anything that you could do to make it perform even better without adding headers etc.

The only things that I have done are to put a K&N air filter and 110 octane leaded gas in this beast.

I have the plugs gaped at specs (I think it is .35) and have slightly more time at 7 VS. 5.

Would you guys suggest a certain plug?
More or less time?

I also have had the carbs rejetted and again the car is strong but any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks again and particularly to whitesatinmopar for the very nice welcome yesterday.

We mopar guys have got to stick together!

On your two exceptions, Most here will tell you that it is your car, so you'll have to make the decsion that's best for u.
That said, If I was lucky enough to own your car, I'd remove the hockey stripe and change to steel wheels.  I like the steel wheel look and think keeping it original as possible helps the value.  Just my .02.

I would leave the wheels & stripe on it if you like them , both can be chaged in minutes if you decide differently .... Ultimately it is you car & choice
There are a lot of things that can be done to a Hemi & not give away the stock appearance porting the manifold ,heads & extrude honing the exhaust will all make a difference.
Also a cam change can make a huge difference , I will be installing the UltraDyne small solid in a hemi in a couple of weeks , it has a short duration @ 24* advertised & .585" lift intake side & .567" on exhaust , I think it will idle like stock but with a lot better breathing.
Optomise the timing curve for the engine.
The trans can be modified for better performance  ;)

Being a long time collector of non-automotive stuff ( books memoribilia etc. )  I'm kind of anal when it comes to originality.  Since you want an opinion, here's mine.  I'd leave the car the way it is IF you like it that way.  In the mean time, hunt up a set of wheels, especially if you find some cheap.  If you ever decide to sell, remove the stripe and add the wheels.  Any other mods, just make sure you keep the origional equipment so you can reverse it.  Just my 2 cents.

well you are one of the lucky ones to have a hemi.

i would get a set of rallye rims cause i like the look better than all other rims after market or otherwise. but like said,  it's your car if you like it then to hell with the rest

Just curious,  are these the rims you are talking about ?

If so I'll keep an eye out for a set cheap.
