I'm new to Mopar land
« on: September 29, 2005 - 06:51:40 AM »
I'm new to the site. I have always been a Ford Mustang fan (sorry) but the cuda is my second favorite car.
I see alot of cars either listed as cuda or baracuda. Is there a difference in the two or just symantecs. I have not taken the time do do any research so I figured I'd ask here. My next restoration is hopefully a 70 cuda or 70 Challenger. I'm finishing up my 2nd 70 Mustang now and looking for a project car.

As I said I have been a classic Mustang fan since I bought my first Mustang in 1970. When I bought that car I had looked at a 70 AAR Cuda. Wanted it bad but my parents would not allow me to buy it. Also wanted a 70 Boss 302, which I also could not buy. In the long run my parents more then likely prevented me from hurting myself or someone else buy not allowing me either of these cars. Young and reckless kid. I now own (2) 70 Mustangs. Both are father and son projects. One is a resto mod with a DOHC 4.6 with shaker scoop, t-45 trans, 3.80 gears, rack and pinion steering. It is basiclly a 96 Cobra Mustang with the classic body of a 70 on it.That one I have given to my son. The other one is a 70 Boss 302. This car is the one I am finishing up now. The Boss will be my car for awhile. It is being restored to stock condition.I would love to find an AAR cuda to go with the Boss. I would love to have one of all the trans-am series car. T/A Challenge,Z-28 etc.  I more than likely will end up with a basic Cuda, dont know if my wife will allow me to buy another high dollar car (AAR).A few pics of the cars are at:http://www.cardomain.com/ride/598113
I have not updated the pics of the Boss yet. My son and I also restored my 58 MGA that I owned since 1972. I sold that to buy the Boss. I will have to learn how to post pics here, my son normally does that for me.

Just tell your wife that buying an AAR is a great investment, as they keep going up in price.

I am the opposite of you. I started out with big block Plymouths, got disgusted with Mopar in the 80's and bought a fuel injected 5.0 Mustang and have had a blast racing and showing them ever since. Currently in the final stages of building my 9 second NHRA legal 93 Cobra that I bought new.
I am new to this board too, but welcome anyway. :)
