most of the guys who have mopars in their fields up here just want them as lawn ornaments. They won't sell them. Kinda bugs me. Why not let someone who is going to restore it and appreciate it buy it. One guy up here has 2 Cuda converts., 1 AAR, and a Coronet sitting in his side lawn :o. I guess he likes to just look at them rust away every morning when he drinks his coffee.  >:( >:(I will try to take some pics this weekend.

Thats a great idea. I'm the same as Darkhorse. I just don't see any Mopars sitting around here on the west coast. But would love to see what's out there. I am also looking to buy another car. Prefer a convert auto. It's for the wife to enjoy and become more involved in the hobby.

Aroud here there are very few mopars sitting around, within 50/60 mile range there are two mopar clubs. The guys keep their eyes and ears open, they buy them up if the jerk will sell them, either to restore or for parts cars. I say jerk because there was a '70 Dart with the hood scoops, an original 340 car, rusting away in this guys drive way. I know I stopped there at least 10 times trying to buy it, left my name and phone number. Guess what, he sold it last fall! I stopped when I say it had been moved, his reply? " Well you hadn't been around for a while, I just figured you found something else."

The pics is a good idea though, we take the digital camera with us a lot, will see what we can find.

Not many fields around here, although I have strained my neck once or twice looking in garages and sheds.  I did hear about a cuda sitting in a barn about 10 miles away.  I've been meaning to check it out anyway.  I'll take the camera.

Rev

You need to get to that Barn ASAP what if its a PILOIT car or a HEMI car???  And you had the chance but didnt follow up on it???  But its probly a slant six car LOL!!!  I dont know...  I just wish I was even in the Market for a total resto car!!!  You got to chase that lead down!!!

Did you read that article in Mopar Muscle about that 70 Road Runner PILOIT car???  It was sitting at a garage in the middle of town and nobody stoped and asked about it and it tuned out to be a super rare car!!!  1 of like 16 PILOITS!!!  And the guy didnt know what he had!!!  I guess the guy got a super deal on it.

Hey fellas, I'm looking for a Barracuda/Challenger convertible for a project. If I can't find one , I'll take a GTX, Coronet, Road Runner rag top project. Also, I know where this salvage yard is that has the following:
'72 Challenger, 68 Sport Fury, 66 Belvedere, atleast 10 Forward Look Mopars. The guy has about 40 acres of cars. I haven't been able to look at it all. There is plenty more Mopars out there.

Marc

it's a good idea of course it helps if you talk to the owner and see if selling is even a consideration before posting or snapping photos no use getting the list excited if the guy is nuts and it's not for sale at any price and the guy comes outside with a shotgun to greet you "no joke it's happen to me more than once"..

Someone here on the list might find a project they are not necessarily interested in but another guy here is and we can help each other other out..maybe a challenger guy finds a couple cudas and a cuda guy finds a couple challengers?. I would say don't bother looking much in the city it's pretty much picked over for hidden treasures...I tried to do this before our newborn arrived, sorry guys I can't add much to the current list because  I haven't much luck here in the san francisco bay area with the exception a 1968 charger infront of an old farm house on highway 1 south of santa cruz california..don't know if it's for sale or what drivetrain...but has a 1/2 inch of tree grime all over it..

But to let you know what you can turn up on recon a few years ago my buddy and I used to do this area the farms and forests in Portland Oregon..just spend the weekend driving back roads.. after a summer we knew of a dozen good mopars each they are all long gone by now but for example

70 340 challenger now with 440-6 nitros  $1500
72 318 barracuda minor front damage $300
69 charger roller $300
74 roadrunner 318 4 speed $800
74 360 4 speed cuda wrecked but cherry before $350
72 Roadrunner roller $800,
73 barracuda $400
73 340 AT cuda  driver $550
69 383 Dart shell with vin title and original hp block $1300

68,69 roadrunner rollers for $500-$800

70 340 4 speed striped and painted shell with a truck load of parts $400

70 383 cuda stripped shell $400

numerous satellites, dusters, darts, chargers  some drivers all less than $500

recently my friend found a neglected 70 cuda he has promised to check up on for me to return the favor of the $550 73 340 cuda I found and he drove home..

.through our recon We also ran into 2  different farmers in the woods that had HUNDREDS of 60-70's Mopar each on their land..of course for the most part 99% of these cars were not for sale, the the few that were were overpriced and rusted and we had to go through the" if you try and come here without permission I got a place picked out in the woods to bury you speech while they described how big the caliber of there shotgun was"..Sad thing is in additon to these cars never be restored or enjoyed, was these guys didn't even know what a vin code was or how to read it  so they could have had Hemi cars sitting out there without engines or  318 satellites with big blocks in em and Roadrunner hoods and not know the difference. yeah I  still remember where one of these guys still lives, but don't ask the guy is just too unstable to deal with and only his junk is for sale at 2X it's value...  I found a guy with a couple A body cuda convetibles in the woods and traded him a $125 70 repo wing for a 71 cuda grill he had he was selling a few parts to try and get some money to offer the original  owner of a 1971 sublime 340 4 speed Convertible cuda sitting in a local barn  once he went down in price because he wanted to much for it....... a whole TWO THOUSAND $!???  a couple years later the guy never could even get together 1/2 the money Are these guys completely nuts ? As far as I know it's still there and Of course he won't tell me where it is other then it's in the general 30 mile area of his little farming town.. But the main point is the cars are out there..you just have to find them...the road less traveled....
